Batteries and rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of in household waste; you are legally obliged to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries. Used batteries may contain harmful substances that, if not stored or disposed of properly, can harm the environment or your health. Batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese and nickel and can be recycled. After use, you can either return the batteries to us with sufficient postage or return them free of charge to a nearby retailer or municipal collection point or our shipping warehouse.

Disposal at retail outlets is limited to the usual quantities for end users, as well as to used batteries that the retailer has or has had in its range as new batteries.
The symbol with the crossed-out trash can means that you may not dispose of batteries and rechargeable batteries in household waste. Under this symbol you will also find the following symbols with the following meaning:
Pb: Battery contains lead
Cd: Battery contains cadmium
Hg: Battery contains mercury
Collection points for old device batteries/accumulators can be found wherever you can buy new device batteries, e.g., at:
- supermarket or discount store,
- Department Store,
- Drugstore,
- Electrical specialty store or
- Hardware store.
The collection boxes in stores are often located in the entrance or exit area, often near the packing tables, where other waste such as waste paper and packaging waste is also collected separately.
In addition, used device batteries can also be returned to municipal collection points, e.g.:
- at the hazardous waste collection point and
at public recycling centers.
